Mission Statement
"Sharing Gods grace and love with the Good Shepherd and Noosa communities'"
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at Noosaville is a congregation that sees itself as being placed here by God to serve the local community. The congregation, which began meeting for worship services in the old Noosa Drive-In cafeteria in 1983, always believed a Christian school would be a wonderful avenue of service to the region. As the school was established and grew and flourished, ownership was eventually transferred to the Queensland District of the Lutheran Church.
While the congregation and college are now quite distinct administratively and financially, they share a common hope of being avenues for people of the region to hear and experience the good news about Jesus Christ and God’s love for the world displayed through him.
The congregation continues to have the local community at its heart as it develops new ways of ministering to and caring for those around it. Groups for men and women, opportunities for children and youth, playgroup, home groups and intergenerational events are all part of the supporting network that gathers around the core worship life of the congregation. We place a high priority on our worship services as the place where God comes to meet with us, to commune with us, and to bless and encourage us in our faith journey. You are always welcome to visit us and learn more about what we believe and teach.
We share a common faith with Christians all around the world who believe that God saves us through Jesus Christ alone, and that we receive his grace through faith alone, as revealed to us in his word (the Bible) alone.
Good Shepherd Lutheran church is part of the Lutheran church of Australia, which in turn is part of a world wide fellowship of Lutheran churches, and one of the largest protestant denominations in the world.
